Rev. Fr. S. Louis Britto, born on 23rd July 1969 to Mr. Susai Raj and Mrs. Anasthas Mary, is a native son of Tiruchirappalli, a city steeped in history. Answering a profound call to service, he was ordained as a Roman Catholic priest on 17th April 1998. His academic journey began at R.C. Higher Secondary School, where he consistently excelled, and earning distinction in his studies. He pursued his undergraduate degree in English at the esteemed University of Madras and furthered his theological and philosophical education at the Urban University, Rome, and Sacred Heart Seminary.
Fr. Britto’s pastoral career spans over two decades (1998–2022), during which he served in various parishes in roles such as Assistant Parish Priest, Parish Priest, and Rector. His commitment to spiritual leadership extended internationally; from 2014 to 2019, he worked as a Pastor in the United States, where he served as a Senate Member for three years in the Diocesan Senate of the Diocese of La Crosse, Wisconsin.
On 1st July 2022, Fr. S. Louis Britto embraced a new chapter of leadership, assuming the roles of Director and Secretary of Kalai Kaviri College of Fine Arts, Tiruchirappalli. His dedication to fostering artistic excellence and cultural heritage marks a promising era for this unique institution.
Fr. S. Louis Britto has brought about significant academic advancements and infrastructure development including 24/7 safety measures, campus-wide CCTV coverage, enhanced hostel facilities, improved food quality in the hostel, and a litter-free campus. Under his visionary leadership, new programmes have been introduced, and the institution continues to flourish, furthering its mission of fostering artistic excellence and preserving cultural heritage. His dedication promises a vibrant future for this unique institution.
