About the Centre of Research and Development
The Centre for Research and Development at Kalai Kaviri College of Fine Arts stands as a trailblazer in the Southern Region, being the first of its kind to introduce a Ph.D. programme in Dance. This landmark initiative was inaugurated on the 14th of December 2002 and Ph.D programme in Music was inaugurated on 3rd of September 2004.
Out of the 16 faculty members, the college boasts 5 dedicated Research Advisors for Dance and 6 for Music. With a track record of academic excellence, the college has produced 28 PhD scholars to date. Presently, 60 scholars are actively engaged in research at our institution. This distinction positions the institution as a leading contributor to fine arts research in the country.
