Serving as the administrative head from 1977 to 2002, he left no stone unturned in elevating Kalai Kaviri to its current academic prominence. Rev. Fr. A. Susai AlangaramDirector & Secretary, Kalai Kaviri College of Fine Arts (2003-2007) Rev. Fr. A. Susai Alangaram, a Roman Catholic Priest of the Tiruchirappalli Diocese, succeeded Rev. Msgr. S.M. George in February 2003. Alongside his administrative role at Kalai Kaviri, he served as the Managing Trustee of Ilanthalir. He completed his tenure in July 2007. Rev. Fr. S. Maria Gnana SekaranDirector & Secretary, Kalai Kaviri College of Fine Arts, (2007-2010) Rev. Fr. S. Maria Gnana Sekaran holds a B.Com., B.Ed., and an M.A. in Communication from Manila University. A Roman Catholic priest of the Tiruchirappalli Diocese, he took over in June 2010, succeeding Rev. Fr. A. Susai Alangaram. A talented musician, Fr. Sekaran contributed significantly to the institution during his tenure. Very Rev. Fr. L. AnthuvanDirector & Secretary, Kalai Kaviri College Of Fine Arts, (from 2010) Rev. Fr. L. Anthuvan, an alumnus of St. Joseph’s College, is a Roman Catholic priest of the Tiruchirappalli Diocese. Before joining Kalai Kaviri, he served as the Director of Nallayan Nilayam, Secretary of the Diocesan Education Commission, and Bursar of St. Paul’s Seminary. He succeeded Rev. Fr. Maria Gnana Sekaran in 2010. Sr. Dr. Margaret Bastin, MA, M.Phil.,Ph.D., Indian Music M.A., (G&C)Principal, Kalai Kaviri College Of Fine Arts, (from 2003) Sr. Dr. Margaret Bastin holds the distinction of being the first religious nun to earn a doctorate in South Indian Classical Music. Her academic journey and achievements reflect her dedication to the advancement of Indian music and her passion for teaching. Academic and Professional Contributions: Member of Academic Boards: She is an esteemed member of the Academic Board of Studies at Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. Examiner: She has contributed to academia as a Board of Examiners member at Mother Teresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal; Madras University, Chennai; and Tamil University, Tanjore. Research Advisor: Recognized by Bharathidasan University, she has guided numerous scholars pursuing their Ph.D. and M.Phil. in Indian Music, fostering research and innovation in the field. Her leadership at Kalai Kaviri College of Fine Arts has strengthened its reputation as a premier institution for fine arts education, particularly in promoting South Indian Classical Music at a global level. Dr. Fr. G. Sagaya Raja, M.A., Ph.D., NET (Music)Director & Secretary of Kalai Kaviri College of Fine Arts from June 2015 Dr. Fr. G. Sagaya Raja has served as the Director and Secretary of Kalai Kaviri College of Fine Arts since June 2015. He completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies in music at Madurai Kamaraj University and earned his Ph.D. in South Indian Classical Music from Tamil University, Tanjore. His research focused on “A Critical Analysis of the Contribution of Tanjore Abraham Pandithar for the Growth of South Indian Music.” A Catholic priest of the Tiruchirappalli Diocese, Fr. Sagaya Raja has demonstrated a lifelong passion for music, receiving training from reputed musicians. His contributions to vocal music education, devotional song composition, and organizing grand orchestral performances on public platforms are highly commendable. He has also been recognized as: A member of the Academic Board of Studies at Bharathidasan University. A research advisor for Ph.D. and M.Phil. scholars. A member of the Board of Examiners for multiple universities, including Mother Teresa Women’s University, Tamil University, and Madras University.
