Dr S. Umamaheswari is a distinguished Carnatic vocalist with an impressive academic background, including MFA, M.Phil, and Ph.D. in Carnatic Music, as well as a PG Diploma in Music Therapy and MA in Yoga. With 29 years of teaching experience, she has established herself as a leading figure in her field. Her research articles and three books have contributed significantly to the world of Carnatic music. Notably, she has guided 5 Ph.D. candidates and 7 M.Phil candidates to successful completion, showcasing her expertise as a researcher and mentor. Dr. Umamaheswari’s expertise in Carnatic music, music therapy, and yoga has earned her recognition as a renowned performer and educator. She also possesses great administrative skills, effectively leading the institution.
