Library
The college has a well-furnished library. There are different categories of books on Indian Dance and Music to meet the needs of the U.G., P.G. courses and higher studies in Bharatanatyam, South Indian Classic Music and Instrumental Music. The collection of library books is being built up acquiring important and rare books on Indian Music and Dance and books on related subjects.
The Library provides books, audio cassettes, CDs, VCDs, walkman, CD & VCD players and other facilities like Photo-copying, Scanning, Computer & Internet.
About Library
- The college library was established in 1986 with 500 books.
- Books and Journals as of recent collection are 6,100 and 40.
- The entire Library was computerized in 2014.
- Bar Code Technology was introduced in 2014.
- Book Bank was established in 2015.
- Web OPAC-online search facility was launched in 2016.
Access to e-Journals is available through UGC-Infonet Programme of Bharathidasan University and N-List from INFLIBNET through the New Digital Library from 2016

Digital Talking Library for Differently Abled Persons was established in Kalai Kaviri College of Fine Arts Library exclusively for the welfare of Differently Abled Persons in the academic year 2017. Digital Talking Library online site providing access to a variety of web-based resources available on the Internet and intranet. Basic Carnatic notation book for available in audio format. It provides a way of organizing information from a variety of sources.
E-Resources
All the computers have browsing facilities. The network of our college has been formulated with the hope of updating the traditional rendering of classical music and bharatanatyam.
Internet access is provided for faculty, students, research scholars and free downloading of e-materials, via youtube download classical dance, classical music, ragas of instruments, download of images, devotional of rare compositions.
Students are encouraged to refer to appropriate learning resources on the web, whenever required.
Rare Books
The Library is nearly 55 years old and it has some special volumes of rare interest. The books are in a brittle state and still we preserve them for the scholars who are doing research. French books on Grammar, Poetry, Drama, Fiction and History of French Literature. Sanskrit books, Vedas and Vedic Literature, Ithihasa, Purana systems of Indian Philosophy and their English translation and some Tamil translations too.There are some books on Kanda, Urdu, Telugu and Malayalam etc.
Books on Biographies of World Personalities.
A good number of books on Inscriptions of Pallavas, Cholas, Pandias and Vijayanagaram etc.

WEB OPAC: By WEBOPAC, users may search the status of a book even though internet access. From anywhere in the world.

The above facilities and services are available for use whenever the library is open.
Library Rules
- It is obligatory on all students of the College to be members of the library.
- Strict silence should be kept in the reading rooms of the library.
- On working days the library will be kept open from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm.
- On Saturdays, the library will be kept open from 9.30 am to 1.00 pm.
- The library will remain closed on Sundays and during the summer vacation.
- Books will be issued only on presentation of the Identity Card of the student.
- Students will be permitted to take books from the stack room between 10.00 am. and 4.00 pm.
- Books can be returned to the library between 10.00 am to 4.00 pm
- Book bank books will be issued to the needy and poor students on request.
Research Services
- Who can become Members of KKCFA Library
- Those who are doing research, leading to M.Phil or Ph.D or Post Doctoral studies.
- P.G. students from any University / any affiliated College.
- Staff members of any College / University / Higher Secondary School, who are preparing for higher studies.
- The scholars should produce an introductory letter with seal from their guide or from the head of their institution or the Librarian of the institution.
- Visit our Online Catalogue (www.kalaikavirifinearts.in) and list out the books required and then come to our library.
- You are welcome to the Reference and Journal Sections only. Book will not be issued for Home Reading.
