Plastic Abolition Committee

The Plastic Abolition Committee at our college is dedicated to promoting sustainability and environmental consciousness within the campus community. Committed to creating a plastic-free environment, the committee implements various initiatives aimed at reducing plastic usage and encouraging eco-friendly practices. Among these initiatives, the college proudly serves food on banana leaves, a traditional and environmentally friendly alternative to plastic packaging during celebrations. This practice not only minimizes plastic waste but also supports local customs and promotes the health benefits associated with natural materials.

In addition to advocating for the abolition of plastic, the committee encourages students and staff to adopt healthy commuting practices. The campus promotes cycling and walking as preferred modes of transport, fostering a culture of physical activity while significantly reducing the carbon footprint. By prioritizing these sustainable practices, the Plastic Abolition Committee aims to inspire a collective commitment to environmental stewardship, ensuring that the college serves as a model for responsible and eco-conscious living. Through education and active participation, the committee strives to cultivate a sense of responsibility toward our planet, making the campus a cleaner and greener place for current and future generations.
